Shelia Ruffin, 54, of Gibson, was arrested Thursday at 7:28 a.m. on warrants charging her with failure to appear on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and remaining where forbidden, a Terrebonne Parish failure to appear warrant on charges of speeding and no driver’s license and she was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. No bond was set.
Delisha J. Smith, 23, of 2637 Fifth St., Berwick, was arrested Wednesday at 12:23 p.m. on a charge of theft by shoplifting. She was released on a summons.
Derwin C. Lightfoot, 23, of 111 Baptiste St., Baldwin, was arrested Thursday at 1:25 p.m. on charges of stop sign violation, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons.
Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force members reported the arrest of Fabian Ward, 24, of 537 Martin Luther King St., Jeanerette Thursday at 2:25 p.m. on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of Lortab, obstruction of justice, introduction of contraband into a jail, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless operation, driving under suspension and littering. No bond was set.
Joshua Johnson, 26, of 2300 Clements Lane, Morgan City, was arrested Thursday at 5:25 p.m. on a warrant charging him with distribution of cocaine. No bond was set.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Joseph McDaniel, 30, of Lincoln Avenue, Baldwin, who was arrested Thursday at 8:39 a.m. on a warrant charging him with disturbing the peace and inciting a riot. He was released on a $2,750 bond.
Lazine McDaniel, 35, of Nora Street, Franklin, was arrested Thursday at 3:39 on a warrant charging her with disturbing the peace and inciting a riot. McDaniel was released on a $2,750 bond.
Both were arrested after an incident at Third Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard Thursday where some 300 persons were disturbing the peace and fighting. McGuire said more arrests are pending.
