Dexter Freeman’s alleged occupation hasn’t changed in the year since he was last arrested.

Police on Sept. 17 charged Freeman, 24, of 340 Ulysses with two counts of distribution of Schedule II narcotics and two counts of violation of CDS in a Drug Free Zone.

Last September, Freeman was charged with distribution of cocaine, resisting arrest, violation of CDS School Zone and obstruction of justice.

Police alleged he led narcotics officers on a foot chase after they responded to allegations of drug activity in the 200 block of Childs Street.

According to court records, the charges against Freeman were dismissed by the District Attorney’s Office on the grounds of insufficient evidence in November.

Eunice police said last week that District Attorney Earl Taylor said that action was an oversight by Assistant DA Donald Richard and his office had the authority to reinstate the charges.

Freeman was arrested again on May 29 of this year and on May 31 on drug charges.

The case from last September has not been reinstated.

Freeman was also arrested by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2008 on a distribution charge.
