Prejean is top graduate at PHS

The Patterson High School’s Class of 2012 will be led by Amanda Clare Prejean, daughter of Terry and Elizabeth Prejean. Graduation will be Friday at 7 p.m. in the PHS gymnasium.

In addition to maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, Prejean has been active in Beta Club, National Honor Society, the Talented Music program and PHS’ Freshman Mentor program.

She is an 8th degree Crackerjack, receiving numerous academic awards while in high school. She received awards in chemistry, geometry, physical science, French 1, BCA, FACS 1 and FACS 2, physics and calculus.

She was awarded the API Scholarship, the Hilcorp Energy Scholarship and the Dr. Ray P. Authement Valedictorian Scholarship. Prejean plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in electrical and computer engineering.

Other summa cum laude graduates from PHS are Katelyn Craddock, Jessica Decuir, Macey Gaspar, Brianna Gray, Lexi Marcell, Kassandra Merritt, Sierra Rebardi, Holli Simmons, Kyle Smith and Katelyn Sonnier.
