Promenade d'art de Franklin entry deadline set

The second annual Franklin art walk, ``Promenade d'art de Franklin'' will be held in downtown Franklin Aug. 13 from 6-9 p.m.

The route will begin at Jackson and Main streets, ending near Willow Street on Main Street. Preferred attire is white linen or cotton.

The walk features the works of local and regional artists.

New artists will be accommodated as they enter the art walk. The deadline for entries is July 22.

Jon Eenigenburg - Scelfo's Insurance

Martha Mello, Caroline Simoneaux - Meyer's Shoe Store

Kelly Martin - The Fad News Stand

Carla Hostetter, Catherine Siracusa - Argus Spa

Award Categories are as follows:

-Best of Show: Special Recognition Plaque by the Main Street Program and $100 cash award

-Ribbons/Certificates: First, second, and third place ribbons and certificates will be awarded to an artist collection of each medium displayed

An art walk is a social event designed to celebrate art. It is a great way to meet artists, appreciate their work, bring attention to merchant establishments, and expand the art scene in Franklin. Art enthusiasts not only enjoy seeing the work of artists, they also participate in the experience of art education.
