Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary for Raymond Adam Verdin Sr., 65, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 7:18 p.m., at Franklin Foundation Hospital. Burial will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. Pastor Lee Higgins will officiate the services.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Leona Irene Champlin Verdin of Franklin; five children, Raymond Adam Verdin Jr. and his companion, Cherie Marr, of Baldwin; Kevin Verdin Sr. and his wife, Lori, of Baldwin; Deborah Verdin of Kaplan; Christopher Verdin and his wife, Miranda, of West Monroe; and Stephanie Verdin of Franklin; one stepson, Jonathan Thibodeaux of Franklin; nine grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Ashley, Brandon, Rhiannon, Sadie, Alijah, Seth, Josiah and Nadyah; one brother, Morris Verdin and his wife, Karen, of Houma; one sister, Janet V. Landry of Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph D. Verdin and Thelma Billiot Verdin; three brothers, Joseph Ernest Verdin, Albert Paul Verdin and John Nelson Verdin; and one sister, Marie A. Verdin Leonard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert’s Mortuary from 11 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Verdin Jr., Kevin Verdin Sr., Christopher Verdin, Dallas Theriot, Brandon Verdin and Kevin Verdin Jr.
