This mid-afternoon accident on La. 182 in Bayou Vista Tuesday caused only minor injuries to one driver. A 2006 BMW driven by Timothy J. Mahfouz, 29, of Morgan City ran into the back of a 2006 Dodge Dakota which was waiting to make a left turn onto Teche Road. Mahfouz was cited for reckless operation, while the driver of the Dakota was treated and released at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. In an unrelated incident Tuesday, traffic was slowed on U.S. 90 for about an hour around 5:15 p.m. after Cyril Robicheaux, 18, of Morgan City looked down to plug in a cell phone and ran into the back of a 2004 Toyota Camry driven by a female, age 56. She and the two juvenile occupants of the vehicle were not injured. The Toyota was forced into a 2004 GMC Yukon driven by a 34-year-old male who also was not injured. Robicheaux was cited for following too closely.
