The Redhead Express is the first concert of the 2012-13 concert season of The Community Concert Association of Morgan City.
Redhead Express is more than just a name: it is a living description of an entertainment dynasty in the making, stated a news release from the association.
“Red hair aside, the band’s resume makes one wonder if Express is even a strong enough word,” the news release stated. “In 2007 the family left Alaska on a whim to travel and perform. Five years and hundreds of shows later reveal a seasoned touring and recording ensemble, with national performing credits, including two seasons in Branson, Mo.”
The family has collected a variety of accolades along the way as a testament to the wide diversity of talent present: “Best Male Vocalist,” “Best Family Show,” “Outstanding Young Female Artist,” “Bass Player of the Year” — all from their stints in Branson, the news release stated.
The National Traditional Country Music Association awarded the band “Album of the Year” for their first recording, “Paintin’ the Town Red.”
“Redhead Express is on a national tour with Live On Stage and is under the tutelage of Nashville producer Paul Worley, who has produced for Martina McBride, Lady Antebellum and Dixie Chicks.
The Community Concert Association of Morgan City was formed in 1947 and continues to bring world-class entertainment to the tri-city area of Morgan City, Berwick and Patterson, as well as the rest of St. Mary Parish and surrounding parishes.
