Chez Hope in Franklin continues getting a facelift, with painters swarming over the building the last few weeks. The organization was the recipient of $200,000 in Louisiana Capital Outlay funding secured by former Rep. Jack Smith and incumbent Rep. Sam Jones. Jones was instrumental in the final negotiations with the state to secure the funding. The grant will help Chez Hope paint the exterior of the historic building on Main Street, reglaze windows and some remodeling of the interior. The agency provides shelter and support services for victims of domestic violence.
