Dung Pham, 49, of Grizzaffi Street in Morgan City was charged with aggravated assault at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday.
The employees went to Pham’s residence to retrieve several items which Pham had not made payments on, Morgan City Assistant Chief Glenn Blanco said. After explaining to him they needed to pick up the items, he became upset, went to the kitchen and obtained the meat clever, he said.
Pham remained jailed this morning with no bail set.
Pham also was charged at 4:39 p.m. on an outstanding St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department warrant for issuing worthless checks. He will remain housed in Morgan City.
The Morgan City Police Department also reported the following arrest overnight, according Blanco:
—Kimberly Harris, 40, Guzzetta Drive, Berwick, at 2:01 p.m. Tuesday charged with theft by shoplifting and on warrants for probation violation and failure to pay probation fees. Officers were called to Rouses by store personnel after Harris was observed placing several products — including Season All, fresh crab meat, ribeye steaks and porterhouse steaks — into her purse, the report stated. The items were valued at $71.83. She remains jailed with no bail set.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department reported the following arrests overnight, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:
—Debra Oubre Corter, 41, Parro Lane, Berwick, at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday at the Bayou Vista Walmart for theft. A deputy was called after store security observed Corter placing an item in her purse. Corter purchased some items but did not pay for the merchandise in her purse and she attempted to leave the store, the report stated. Corter was released on a summons to appear in court.
—Craig Albarado, 48, Halsey Street, Morgan City, at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Morgan City Jail on warrants for theft, criminal trespassing, remaining where forbidden, introduction of contraband into a penal institution and failure to appear on the charges of reckless operation, driving under suspension, resisting an officer and driving while intoxicated. A deputy located Albarado at the Morgan City jail on the warrants. Albarado will remain housed in Morgan City. No bail has been set.
—Shaun Chester Sikes, 25, La. 182 in Bayou Vista, Tuesday at a residence on Landry Drive in Bayou Vista for disturbing the peace intoxicated and telephone harassment. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Sikes was outside the home yelling profanities and had sent a number of text messages to the victim, the report stated. Sikes was released after posting $1,250 bail.
—Benito Saenz, 31, North Main Street, Lockport, at 3:24 a.m. today for driving while intoxicated, no driver’s license and improper lane usage. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver in Amelia where he located the vehicle and observed the driver swerving in and out of lanes on U.S. 90. A traffic stop was conducted, and Saenz registered a .268 grams-percent on the Intoxilyzer 5000. No bail has been set.
