The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth J. Rhodes of Morgan City. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Pickens of Morgan City.
For the ceremony, the church was decorated with arrangements of blue hydrangea, roses and calla lilies, created by the groom’s mother.
Music was by soloist Brooke Quick and organist Kent Arthement.
Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory gown adorned with an elaborate hand-embroidered design and crystals on the bodice, tulle skirt and chapel-length train. The Cinderella silhouette featured a dropped waist, sweetheart neckline and gathers at the skirt.
Her fingertip-length veil was edged with a matching hand-embroidered design and crystals.
She carried a bouquet of blue hydrangea, pink roses, ivory calla lilies and white orchids held with French-braided ivory satin ribbon.
Kara Rhodes was her sister’s maid of honor. She wore an A-line, floor-length gown of blue luxe taffeta fashioned with a sweetheart bodice with pleats and a high, fitted waistline with a simple band. She carried a bouquet of hydrangea, roses, calla lilies and baby’s breath.
Bridesmaids were Chancie Clements, Amanda Rhodes and Alexis Rice, cousins of the bride; Madison Goolsby, cousin of the groom; Brooke Quick and Sarah Miller.
Flower girls Hanna Rhodes and Sophie Fears, cousins of the bride, each wore a floor-length ivory dress with satin ribbons at the waist. They carried baskets filled with pink roses.
Ringbearers were Payton Pickens, son of the groom; Lucas Pickens and Noah Pickens, sons of the bride and groom; and Chaz’ Pickens, nephew of the groom.
Chad Pickens was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Mason Goolsby, cousin of the groom; Brock Landry, Lamar Beaugh, Wade Rodriguez, Trey Smith and Brandon Varnum.
Ushers were Nathan Rhodes, godfather of the bride, and Ronnie Bergeron.
A reception followed at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium ballroom. Tables were decorated with arrangements of hydrangea, roses and calla lilies, created by Chris Rhodes, cousin of the bride. The ballroom ceiling was draped in white with a center chandelier.
The bride’s cake was a five-tiered confection with butter cream icing and lemon, strawberry, chocolate and pineapple fillings. Blue ribbon adorned each layer. Initials in blue rhinestone topped the cake.
Cutting and serving cake was Roseann Williams and Carolyn Darce, great-aunts of the groom.
Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Atchafalaya Golf Course at Idlewild Club House.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Morgan City High School and she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of MCHS and earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from NSU.
They honeymooned at Disney World in Florida and reside in Morgan City.
