September 21, 1936 — March 16, 2012

A Mass of Christian burial was held today, Monday, March 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Rita Benoit Guidroz, 75, a native of Leonville and resident of Patterson for the past 35 years, who passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at 4:20 a.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. Burial followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Donavan Labbé officiated the services.

Survivors include five children, Kathy G. Gaspar of Lafayette, Jodi Mitchell and her husband Charles of Bayou L’Ourse, Brenda G. Tappin and her husband Joe Kerr of Spring, Texas, Randy Guidroz and his wife Annette of Carencro, and Tony J. Guidroz and his wife Amiee of Franklin; one sister, Lelia B. Richard of Sunset; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Guidroz; one daughter, Deanna Guidroz; her parents, Joseph and Anita Marks Benoit; one son-in-law, Larry “L.C.” Case; one grandchild, Breyonna Vilcan; two brothers; and one sister.

A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and resumed today, Monday, March 19, 2012, at St. Joseph Church from 9 a.m. until Mass time at 11 a.m.

Pallbearers were Raymond Gaspar, Derek Tappin, Anthony Guidroz, Alex Guidroz, Coty Mitchell and Ricky Moreno.
