October 2, 1929 — January 8, 2012

Roberta L. Jones, a native of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and a resident of Morgan City, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, in Lafayette.

Roberta served in the Ladies Auxiliary of Teche Regional Medical Center for more than 25 years. She was tremendously loved by her family and her friends and will be dearly missed by them.

Roberta is survived by her children, Laurie Elliott and husband Frank of Morgan City, Vickie Bender and husband David of Lafayette, John D. Jones and wife Cheryl of Baton Rouge and Tammie Gore of Euless, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Sand and wife Judy of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Robert Sands and wife Joyce of Unionville, Mo.; and one sister, Janet Chavez and husband Pat of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, John Jones; and parents, Dave and Doris VanNess.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Morgan City beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a service of Christian burial starting at 11 a.m.

Roberta will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
