All of the piling has been driven and work on the building foundations for the lake houses at Lake End Parkway has begun. According to project architect Carl Blum, the slabs are formed and reinforcing steel is being placed to tie the slabs to the wood piling. Here, the camera captures the view of Lake Palourde from what will be the first floor screened porch of the cabin. Currently, 3 of the 18 planned cabins are being constructed at a cost of $837,855 by LA Contracting Enterprises of Thibodaux. The state is picking up $575,000 of the tab.
