Rosella Chaisson Bertrand, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012.

She was a wonderful mother and friend and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She was an active member at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by her son, Wilfred “Noonie” Longon II and his wife Minnie of Erath; her daughters, Sheila Bennett of Morgan City, Billie Jean Dufrene and husband Maurice of Houma, and Rosetta “Tootsie” Marcrum and husband Mose of Henderson, Nev. She also is survived by nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Alpha, Jessie Hebert; and one brother, Lamar Chaisson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Albert Chaisson; her father, Denis Chaisson; a son, Charles Byron Longon; and 16 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Hall, 807 Fig St., Morgan City.
