Mr. Saul Grogan Sr., 89, a resident and native of Patterson, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at 2:20 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City following a short illness.
He is survived by 11 sons, Saul Jr. and Wallace of Morgan City, Clarence of Berwick, Charles, Earl, Paul, Timothy, Garrett and Saul III of Patterson, Joseph and Marvin Grogan of Franklin; five daughters, Betty Grogan Christopher of Morgan City, Brunetta Grogan Stewart, Loretta Grogan Duchan and Melissa Grogan Larce of Patterson and Edna Grogan Riles of Baldwin; one sister, Lizzie Dangerfield of Patterson; 53 grandchildren; 100 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Mr. Grogan was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son.
Visitations will be observed Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at New Salem Baptist Church in Patterson and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson.
Burial rites will be read Wednesday, at 2 p.m., at Good Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Samuel Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the Willing Workers Cemetery in Patterson.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
