The St. Mary Parish School Board will meet in special session Wednesday to conduct its annual budget workshop.

The board will gather at 9 a.m. in the Evans Medine Meeting Room at the Central Office Complex in Centerville to hammer out a spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year.

By law, the budget does not have to be adopted until September.

Also on the agenda, the board will consider:

—Granting permission to advertise for a curriculum facilitator and school secretary, both at M.D. Shannon Elementary School, and a custodian at LaGrange Elementary School in Franklin.

—Approve resolutions authorizing signatories for Berwick Junior High School, B.E. Boudreaux Middle School in Baldwin, Franklin Junior High School and Patterson Junior High School, as a result of recent appointments.

—Receive quotes and award a contract for replacement of the kitchen hood at J.S. Aucoin Elementary School in Amelia.

—Funding fencing replacement at M.E. Norman Elementary School in Morgan City using the school’s future capital improvement monies.

Wednesday’s meeting is open to the public.
