Bret Allain of Adeline is a farmer — a job he began alongside his father at age 13 — and works in the oil and gas industry. He has served on the State Mineral Board and currently serves on the Agricultural Finance Authority and the Interstate 49 Task Force.

He is a graduate of Louisiana State University. He is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin, and has been married for 25 years to the former Kim McElveen. They are the parents of three children: Quin Elise, Emma Marie, and Robert Lebreton.

Allain is making his first run for public office.

Darrin Guidry of Houma has managed successful radio stations in Morgan City and Houma, and currently owns the Guidry Group, publishers of the Tri-Parish Times and the Gumbo Entertainment Guide. He founded 105.9 FM in Berwick, which is now KBZE.

He currently serves on the Terrebonne Economic Development Authority and the Terrebonne Levee Board of Commissioners, and has numerous civic and charitable roles in the community.

A native of Patterson, Guidry graduated from Central Catholic High School in Morgan City. He now resides in Houma with his wife of 18 years, the former Pamela Matherne, and together they have one son. They are members of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church in Houma and Guidry is an active member and past financial secretary of the Immacolata Knights of Columbus.

The meeting will be held at noon at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
