SWAMPLAND: One run seperates rivals in Berwick

Taco Bell, made up of Berwick players, and the Patterson Pride, made up of Patterson players, resumed their rivalry summer-league style Thursday with Taco Bell edging the Pride, 4-3, on a two-run walk-off home run by Trey Williams in the bottom of the seventh.

Bobby Boudreaux started on the mound for Taco Bell and went 51/3 innings with six strikeouts, two walks, and three runs on four hits. Nick Duthu came on in relief and got the win in 12/3 innings of work with three strikeouts, one walk and two hits.

Cameron Clements went to battle with Boudreaux on the mound for the Pride going 62/3 innings with six strikeouts, eight walks and four earned runs.

Williams led Taco Bell at the plate going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs; Lee Rhodes was 1-for-3; Chris Charpentier was 1-for-3; Logan Theriot was 1-for-1; Reed Leonard was 2-for-3 with an RBI; and Chaz Russo was 1-for-3.

Jaydrick Declouet was 1-for-3 for the Pride; Ryan Wade was 1-for-3; Dallas Hamlett was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI; Cameron Clements was 1-for-3; and Taylor Harris was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

The Pride are now 2-5 on the season and will host Vandebilt at home on Monday.

Taco Bell is now 3-5 and will travel to face Thibodaux on Monday.

Skipper’s 6, E.D. White 5

Dylan Hymel picked up the win on the mound for Skipper’s, made up of Morgan City players, over E.D. White 6-5 on Thursday in Morgan City.

Brennan Scully was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and the game winning walk-off double. Brandon Beadle was 1-for-3; Tyler Jones was 1-for-3; Adeyemi Wheeler was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI and Dioux Guidry was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Skipper’s will travel to Amelia to face the Cajuns, made up of Central Catholic players, on Monday.

The Cajuns played on Thursday but stats were not made available as of press time.
