SWAMPLAND: Taco Bell struggles in doubleheader

Taco Bell, made up of Berwick players, played a double header on Tuesday in Berwick to make up for a rained out game earlier in the season against E.D. White.

EDW went up 3-2 after the first inning and ended up run-ruling Taco Bell with two runs in the second and seven runs in the fourth inning for a 12-2 win.

Reed Leonard started on the mound for Taco Bell going 3 1/3 innings with two strikeouts, three walks and seven runs with three earned on six hits. Daniel Gray came on for 1/3 of an inning in relief and struck out one, walked seven and al-lowed five runs.

Logan Theriot led Taco Bell at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs; Lee Rhodes was 1-for-2; Leonard was 1-for-1 with a double; and Ian Bergeron was 1-for-2 with a double.

In the second game, Taco Bell fared much better against South Terrebonne, losing 10-9.

Drew Landry started on the mound and went 5 1/3 innings with three strikeouts, four walks, seven runs on five hits with five earned runs. Chaz Russo came on in relief for 1 2/3 innings, walked four, and allowed three runs on three hits.

Matt Skelton led the way at the plate going 2-for-2 with two RBIs; Rhodes was 1-for-4 with a double; and Bergeron was 2-for-2.
