Sawblade pageant is March 24

The Little Miss and Master Sawblade Pageant will be held March 24 at the Patterson Area Civic Center. Patterson Cypress Sawmill Festival will present the event in two halves.

The first half will begin at 1 p.m., with registration starting at noon. Divisions competing will be girls 0 to 11 months, 12 to 23 months, 2 years old, and 3 to 4 years old; and boys 0 to 23 months, and 2 to 4 years old.

For the second half, registration is at 3 p.m. with the pageant starting at 4 p.m. Divisions competing is girls 5 to 6 years old, 7 to 8 years old, 9 to 10 years old, and 11 to 13 years old.

Entry fees are $45 for beauty and an extra $5 for photogenic. Photogenic entries supply one photo no larger than 8-by-10 size. Pictures are to be handed in at registration March 24.

Awards include an official crown, monogrammed banner, festival T-shirt, ride bracelet and trophy for participants named king or queen. First through third alternates will receive an official flame trophy and festival T-shirt. Photogenic and fashion winners receive a banner.

Pageant attire is Sunday best only. No formal wear is allowed.

Admission for the public is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
