School board will meet Thursday

The St. Mary Parish School Board will meet Thursday to discuss business pertaining to the start of school.

Among items on the agenda are approval of the 2012-13 gold book and pupil progression plan, COMPASS teacher observation instrument, Teacher Advancement Program rubric and observation form, revised employment contract for certified personnel and revised job descriptions for principals and assistant principals.

Also to be discussed are resolutions authorizing signatories for Berwick Elementary School, Berwick High School and Patterson High School activity accounts.

A request to upgrade breakers and wiring at Wyandotte Elementary and Morgan City Junior High School to accommodate new technology as well as a request for proposals for a Wide Area Network upgrade will be considered.

A committee report on the National School Board Association Southern Region Conference is slated.

The meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at the Central Office Complex in Centerville and is open to the public.
