Second graders receive First Communion in Baldwin

SACRED HEART OF JESUS Catholic Church in Baldwin held First Communion on Saturday, April 14. Joland Charpentier’s second grade C.C.D. class received the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist for the first time from their pastor, Rev. Gregory Cormier. Wesley Joseph Doiron read the first reading, Natalie Michelle Davis read the responsorial Psalm, Isabella Verret read the second reading and Daymond Lovell read the Intercessory Prayers. Gift bearers were Omarion Marquell Alfred, Evan Paul Barrilleaux, Louis James Benoit III, Ian Thomas Switzer, Jalyn Blood and Linzie Renee Coleman. A reception for the first communicants was sponsored by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Sacre’ Coeur 2572 in Legros Hall. Gifts were presented to the first communicants from their secret prayer pals and they were introduced to their secret prayer pals for the first time. Charpentier is also the director of the Sacred Heart Religious Education Program. Pictured above are the children who made their first communion with Rev. Cormier.
