Early this morning the driver of a red GMC Sierra SLE truck was traveling eastbound on La. 182 at a high rate of speed when he ran off the road and struck three vehicles — a white Ford F-150XL truck, a grey Chevy Silverado and a Maroon Chevrolet Tahoe — parked in the Louisiana Machinery parking lot in Amelia. None of the parked vehicles were occupied; and the owners, who are offshore, have been notified about the accident. The driver of the GMC was transported by Acadian Ambulance Services to Teche Regional Medical Center for his injuries. Louisiana State Police Troop I is in charge of the investigation. No further information was available at press time.
