The St. Mary Central All-Stars and Franklin All-Stars earned berths in the State Tournament after emerging as the two top teams from the 2012 AA District Tournament following four days of action at Caffery Park.

St. Mary Central finished with a perfect 4-0 record to capture the 2012 AA District Title while Franklin strung together a 3-1 record to finish as the District Runnerup.

St. Mary Central and Franklin will advance to the 8 Year Old State Tournament which opens play on Thursday, July 5 in Pineville.

St. Mary Central posted its third straight win with a 15-5 win over Patterson on Friday before polishing off a 4-0 record with a 7-6 win over Thibodaux on Saturday.

Franklin strung together pair of victories on Saturday with wins over Morgan City (20-5) and Thibodaux (10-9).

In Saturday’s action, Franklin defeated Morgan City 20-5; St. Mary Central nipped Thibodaux, 7-6; Morgan City defeated Patterson, 19-12 and Franklin won over Thibodaux, 10-9.

Friday’s action had Thibodaux topping Morgan City 16-11 and St. Mary Central downing Patterson, 15-5.

The Franklin All-Stars will open play Thursday, July 5 in the State Tournament in Pineville.
