A 35-year-old Schriever man was arrested in Charenton by a St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputy on a warrant from St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on charges of vehicular homicide and reckless operation.

Jacob Robert Salley, 35, of Blakefield Drive in Schriever, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The deputy investigating a complaint of a theft at a property on La. 87 in Charenton made contact with Salley. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Salley was wanted on the warrant. Salley was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
