The Bayou Vista Fire Department received a call at approximately 3 p.m. Monday from the sheriff’s department about a sticky substance located at the intersection of Hwy. 182 and Sun Road in Bayou Vista. According to Fire Chief Darryl Perry, the substance appeared to have come from a garbage truck. The fire department successfully cleaned the roadway and contacted the parish to inform them to check the trucks for any leakage.
