Latest advances in consumer electronics in recent years makes the field perfect for being showcased at this year’s Habitat Home and Garden Show at the Baton Rouge River Center March 2-4.

Each year, the Capital Region Builders Association hosts the event and selects one element of home ownership as a centerpiece for its annual trade show.

This year’s feature will be the exploding field of technology that is now available to the residential market.

It wasn’t that long ago that wide-format flat-screens gave way to Hi-definition screens and now 3D, according to CRBA. But what about the new smart TVs that functions much like a giant iPad? Or why not use a smart phone to turn the lights on or off while you’re out of town to look like someone is home? What about super-efficient LED lighting?

Explore the possibilities at Habitat Home and Garden Show. Attendees will be able to experience it first-hand from local companies who work with homeowners.

Three Baton Rouge companies, Acadian Home Theater and Automation, Shield Security, Wireless IQ and Lafayette-based LALED will be the featured.

“I’m excited about sharing space with these vendors,” remarks Bryan Naquin, owner of Acadian, “We already enjoy great relationships with these companion businesses so the synergy of working side-by-side ought to be dynamic. I think every person who stops by will be wowed by the possibilities!”

Some of the technology to be featured includes a touchscreen TV, integrated whole-house audio, off-site security access, LED lighting and design, and training on how to maximize use of the wireless and Bluetooth devices you already own.
