CROWLEY - Kevin Francis, who was convicted first degree murder, first degree attempted murder and forcible rape was sentenced to the maximum allowable on all three charges by Judge Edward Rubin on Wednesday.

Francis, 16, who along with two 15-year-old accomplices - Claude Morrison Jr. and Ryan Williams , broke into the home of Linda Bonin in search of money and drugs.

When they were unable to get either, they sexually tortured Bonin and shot Ryan Snow who was staying in Bonin’s home.

Snow, who was shot but survived by feigning death, testified that he saw Francis, out of the corner of his eye, shoot Bonin in the head after not obeying his commands to stop screaming after the rape.

The crime remains one of the most brutal in recent Crowley history and Judge Rubin sentenced Francis accordingly.

For first-degree murder he received a life sentence. For the attempted murder of Snow he received 50 years. And for forcible rape he received 40 years.
