Theft at Walmart is nothing new, but police have arrested a Texas man for an unusual alleged theft - a kiss.

According to Eunice police, they responded to a complaint at Walmart after Randy J. Butcher, 40, of Houston, Texas allegedly grabbed an employee who had resisted his hitting on her, then started kissing her.

Police said Butcher walked up to the employee and started giving her compliments and trying to chat.

She stated that Butcher asked for her phone number several times and she gave him a fake phone number hoping that he would leave her alone.

The employee stated that she attempted to walk away from him several times and he blocked her path each time.

The woman stated that he then grabbed her and started kissing her. The employee managed to finally get away and notified her supervisor who called police while Butcher was still inside the store.

By then, he had allegedly approached a second woman, this one a shopper.

She also advised the officer that she was approached by Butcher, who asked for her phone number while complementing her.

The woman’s boyfriend walked into the aisle and confronted Butcher when he observed his behavior. This victim also reported him to a Walmart supervisor.

Walmart employees then located Butcher who was trying to leave and detained him until police arrived.

He is charged with simple assault, simple battery and false imprisonment. Police said there is not specific charge of stealing a kiss.

Butcher, police said, is a cross-country truck driver.
