Children across St. Mary Parish flocked to public schools today for the first day of the 2012-13 school year. Holy Cross and Central Catholic students in grades 1-12 have one more day of summer as they report Thursday. Here, students at Bayou Vista Elementary School were greeted this morning by Ally Gator, the school mascot.
