Sheriff Mark Hebert said Joshua L. Boudreaux, 26, of 403 Cypress St., Franklin, was arrested at 2:49 p.m. after the traffic stop.
Boudreaux reportedly fled and finally came to stop in a cane field where he reportedly ran away on foot. He was later apprehended in the area.
During the investigation, the deputy located an item in the vehicle that had been reported stolen during a recent string of burglaries in the Franklin area, Hebert said, and another item was located at Boudreaux’s residence.
He was charged with illegal possession of stolen things and the lane use violation. No bond was set.
When Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire learned of the arrest, she says she immediately knew where to look for possible accomplices and evidence.
Officers investigated, and arrested three other persons between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Kimberly Gorman, 19, of Weber Street, Franklin; Shane Compton, 32, of Mechanic Street, and Cherie Loustalot, 29, of Mechanic Street, were all charged with illegal possession of stolen things over $20,000.
No bonds were set.
