Two Central Catholic and one Patterson High School volleyball players were recognized this past weekend for making the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s Composite Academic All-State volleyball team.

Central Catholic’s Caroline Byrne and Abbie Bergeron along with Patterson’s Rebecca Taylor made the team, which consists of students in Divisions 1-5 who have 4.0 grade point averages.

The Central Catholic students, who competed in Division 5 (Classes 1A-C), were among those honored before the Division 5 state championship game Saturday between Metairie Park Country Day and Episcopal School of Acadiana, while Taylor, whose team competed in Division 3, was honored before the Division 3 title game Saturday between E.D. White and Ursuline Academy.

Forty-three student athletes from 36 schools were honored.
