State Police said sheriff’s deputies arriving first at the scene were unable to rescue the children trapped in the car.
Rescue divers eventually got to Faith Encalade, 9, and Patience Encalade, 7, but neither survived.
Raelyn Encalade, 28, and the other two children were able to swim to safety.
