ZACHARY – Two elderly men were killed when their vehicle was squashed by another.

State Police said Kenneth Cavin, 19, of St. Francisville was driving north on U.S. 61 when his pickup went out of control Sunday afternoon, crossed the median and went airborne.

As the truck rolled over, it struck the top of a car driven by Willie Ross, Sr., 84 of Baton Rogue. Ross and Jonas Ross, 81, died at the scene.

Cavin had non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers believe excessive speed a factor in the accident. Charges are pending further investigation.
