Five of Team USA’s contests in the Word Cup, plus the championship game, will air across the United States on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3.com. It marks the first opportunity for Cajuns fans to watch Orgeron and the 2011 version of Team USA on television.
The U.S. faces Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Great Britain and Japan over the course of the tournament.
Orgeron and Team USA began preparations for the World Cup with exhibitions against the USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team in Plant City, Fla., (June 25), Salem, Va. (June 29) and Bowie, Md. (July 1). The squad recently competed in the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship (July 9-17).
Orgeron is the first Ragin’ Cajuns softball player to compete as a member of the USA Softball Women’s National Team.
