The victim was identified as Kord Lee Harrelson, 21.
Troopers said the accident occurred around 6 a.m. as Kord Lee Harrelson, 21, was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer on La. 10 and crossed the center line, hitting a 2006 Kenworth 18-wheeler driven by Talmadge K. Sigler, 48, of Hornbeck.
Harrelson was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected, police said.
Sigler suffered minor injuries and was transported to Oakdale Medical Center, police said.
