CROWLEY – An unbelted Crowley man died early Tuesday when his truck ran off La. 13 and overturned.

State Police said Jason Meche, 37, was southbound shortly after 3 a.m. when his truck left the right side of the road. He overcorrected to the left, causing his truck to cross the road, entered a ditch and overturn.

This morning, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I investigated a single vehicle fatal crash on LA Highway 13 south of Crowley which claimed the life of a Crowley man.

It is unknown if impairment was a factor in this crash; however, routine toxicology samples have been obtained and will submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis, troopers said.

This crash remains under investigation.
