Virginia Rita Bourgeois, 86, a native of Berwick and a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
Virginia was a devout Christian who loved the Lord and her family. She will be truly missed but never forgotten.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianna Bourgeois of Lafayette; one son, Steve Bourgeois and wife Malinda of Bayou Vista; one brother, Kaufman Fromenthal of Wisconsin; two sisters, Pearl Haase of Morgan City and Doris Thompson of Minnesota; two grandchildren, Brittany and Melanie Bourgeois; and one great-grandchild, Ava Bonner.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bourgeois; her parents, Charles and Clothilde Fromenthal; one son, Frank J. Bourgeois; one sister, Barbara Taylor; and three brothers, Donlee, Neal and Louis Fromenthal.
Visitation will take place at Twin City Funeral Home today, Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and resumes at Cornerstone Ministries on Everett Street on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A Service of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. at the church, and she will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
