The Lady Tigers lost the first match of the tournament to Lakeshore 2-1 (23-25, 25-17, 16-18).
Katelyn Adams led the team with 16 assists, eight digs, two aces and two kills; Brooke Singleton had nine kills, six digs, five assists, an ace and a block assist; Brittney Durham had 16 digs, five aces and a kill; Kailyn Turner had seven kills, two block assists and a block; Jaiveianna Jones had two kills, a dig and a block assist; Reina Fernandez had two kills and three digs; Genesis Esteban had three digs, an assist, a block assist and a kill; Savannah Loupe had a dig; and Allie Dragna had two digs.
In the second game of the tournament, the Lady Tigers lost 2-0 to H.L. Bourgeois (19-25, 22-25).
Adams had five kills, five digs, two aces and two assists; Dragna had an ace; Fernandez had two digs, two block assists, two kills, an ace and a block; Singleton had six assists, seven digs, two kills and a block assist; Esteban had four digs; Loupe had four digs; Durham had six digs; and Kloe’ Liner had two block assists.
The Lady Tigers got on track in the third game of the tournament with a 2-1 win over McGehee (16-25, 25-19, 15-5).
Adams had seven assists, seven digs, three kills and two aces; Durham had two aces, an assist and a dig; Singleton had seven kills, four digs, a block assist and three assists; Fernandez had seven digs, two kills and an assist; and Turner had three block assists, one block and two kills.
Morgan City continued its strong play with a win over Chalmette 2-1 (22-25, 25-19, 15-11).
Durham had 12 digs and two aces; Adams had 16 assists, four kills, 13 digs and an ace; Singleton had 11 kills, 10 assists, seven digs and two blocks; and Turner had six kills and two blocks.
The last game of the tournament pitted MCHS against rival Assumption and the Lady Tigers fell short 2-0 (16-25, 17-25).
Singleton had 10 kills, two digs, six assists and a block assist; Adams had nine assists, three digs and a kill; Turner had five kills, two block assists and a dig; and Durham had three digs and an assist.
MCHS junior varsity finishes second
The Lady Tigers junior varsity finished second in the tournament but lost the first match to Lakeshore 2-0 (17-25, 17-25).
Reynaud had four assists and an ace; Chandler Pasqua had six digs, a kill and an ace; Liner had two digs, a kill and a block assist; Cabrera had a block assist; Loupe had two digs; and Prince had three assists.
The jayvee moved on to beat Ursuline Academy 2-0 (25-15, 25-11).
Bailey had nine digs and an ace; Liner had five digs, a block and an ace; Reynaud had two aces; Prince had two aces and a dig; Savannah Loupe had two digs and an ace; Jones had a dig; and Pasqua had six digs.
The Lady Tigers continued tournament play with a win against Higgins 2-0 (25-21, 25-17) with Bailey leading the team with four kills, two aces, two digs and an assist; Pasqua had an ace and a dig; Prince had five assists and two aces; Reynaud had nine assists; Liner had seven kills; Eliannys Cabrera had a kill; Esteban had a kill; and Jones had two kills and a block.
In the last game of the tournament, MCHS lost to Lakeshore 2-0 (12-25, 17-25).
Reynaud had three assists, a kill, a dig and an ace; Prince had five assists, two digs and a kill; Liner had two kills; Pasqua had a kill and a dig; Esteban had two kills; Bailey had three kills and four digs; and Loupe had three digs.
The Lady Tigers freshmen won the freshman bracket with a 3-1 record.
Lady Eagles bounce back in district
The Central Catholic volleyball team regrouped after its first loss in district play to Houma Christian last Tuesday for a win over West St. John 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-10).
Abbie Bergeron had 10 digs, four aces and a kill; Amanda Barron had three digs, two aces and two kills; Brieann Hill had five kills and two blocks; Caroline Byrne had 24 assists, three digs, an ace and a kill; Geralyn Garrett had 12 kills, two aces, two digs and a block; Meo Knight had seven kills, two blocks and two digs; and Olivia Crawford had six aces and a dig.
Lady Panthers down Patterson
The Berwick volleyball team picked up an important district win on Thursday against district rival Patterson 3-0 (25-15, 28-26, 25-17).
Abigail Ohlin led Berwick with nine kills, seven aces and 17 digs; Megan Fegenbush had eight digs, two aces and three kills; and Elizabeth Hover had six kills, two aces and two assists.
