The Morgan City Police Department is requesting public assistance in locating a suspect vehicle sought in cases of attempted thefts and attempted residential burglaries currently being investigated.

The vehicle suspected of being used by the burglars is a white “work-style,” full-size pickup truck, according to Morgan City Police Capt. Mike Marino. Descriptions of the persons involved, however, have varied.

If anyone observes this type of vehicle just parked in his or her neighborhood or possibly dropping somebody off and then waiting for that person to come back, the MCPD asks to be notified.

“In addition, should anyone using this same type of truck approach you and state that they are with the utility department and will be cutting electricity off in a few hours for utility work, contact the MCPD. This is not a normal city procedure. You should contact MCPD, and we will dispatch an Officer,” Marino said.

“One account of the white truck stated it had out of state plates, possibly Virginia. If you see this truck in your neighborhood, contact emergency dispatch. If you have information on this truck, contact detectives. We thank the citizens in advance for their assistance in this matter,” Marino said.

The MCPD emergency dispatch number is 384-2310, and the MCPD detectives phone number is 380-4605.
