Viola Deslatte Goulas

December 13, 1916 — December 22, 2011

Viola was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Viola is survived by her four children, Audrey and husband Kenneth Fangue of Hempstead, Texas, Elaine Goulas of Morgan City, Gerald and his wife Ellen Goulas of Bayou Vista and Earl and his wife Vicki Goulas of Blue Spring, Mo.; her friend and caregiver, Belle Simoneaux; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Elmo “Scotty” Goulas; her grandson, Troy Fangue; her parents, Octave and Laura Deslatte; seven brothers, Lloyd, Teddy, William, Laurie, Aubrey, Eddie and Warren; and one sister, Era Mae “Sis” Percle.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dishman and Journey Hospice, and extend a special thanks to Elinor Lee, Grace Guthrie, Felecia Johnson and Deacon Brent Bourgeois.

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Viola will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
