A total of 71.20 percent, or 15,128 voters, of white registered voters, 70.76 percent or 8,075 of black registered voters and 46.72 percent, or 684 voters, of voters of other races cast their ballots during the Nov. 6 election.
A total of 73 percent or 12,593 of registered Democrats, 78.76 percent, or 6,434 voters, of registered Republicans and 55.84 percent, or 4,860 voters, of other-party registered voters voted in the election.
In Morgan City, 69.26 percent, or 5,571 voters turned out for the election. A total of 66.04 percent, or 5,312 of voters in Morgan City voted for mayor.
A total of 71.76 percent, or 4,136 of white registered voters, 66.30 percent, or 1,251 of black registered voters and 46.82 percent, or 184 of voters of other races voted in Morgan City.
Seventy-three percent, or 2,550 of registered Democrats, 78.56 percent, or 1,703 of registered Republicans and 53.44 percent, or 1,141 of other-party voters cast their votes in the election.
The fall election season is not over. Morgan City will have a mayoral runoff between Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi and Lee Dragna. The parish will vote for first circuit court of appeal judge between William Dupont and Mitch Theriot and vote on Charles Boustany and Jeff Landry for 3rd Congressional District race all on Dec. 8.
