Voting tally rises to 270 in St. Mary

Another 48 St. Mary residents cast ballots Wednesday, bringing the total in the current early voting period to 270.

Of those 48 voters, 25 went to the polls in Franklin, while 23 voted in Morgan City.

Since the early voting period for the March 24 primary opened, 29 people voted Saturday, 38 on Monday and 37 on Tuesday. There were 118 mailed ballots before the early voting period opened.

The current ballots contain only presidential candidates and a Republican state committee position.

Voting continues through Saturday at the registrar’s offices in the courthouse in Franklin and at 301 Third St. in Morgan City.
