Warren Charles Doty Sr., a resident of Kentwood, died at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at his residence.
He was born March 7, 1924 in Patterson and was 87 years of age. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Kentwood.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessie Doty Hilbun of Kentwood; three sons, Patrick John Lambeth of Maryville, Tennessee; Richard Paul Doty of Kentwood; and Thomas Joseph Doty of Kentwood; two sisters, Carolyn Doty Anderson of Patterson and Dolores Doty Hahn of Franklin; one brother, Clarence Henry Doty Jr. of Canton, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Mr. Doty was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Cambre Doty; son, Warren Charles Doty Jr.; two granddaughters, Tessie Lynn Doty and Rebekah Leigh Doty; daughter-in-law, Betty Booty Doty; parents, Clarence and Jessie Doty; and sister, Iris Doty.
Visitation will be held at McKneely Funeral Home in Kentwood, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Arbor Day Foundation.
