Wilbert Singleton Jr., a native of Morgan City and a resident of Amelia, died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 31, at Union Bethel Church from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Wilbert leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Diana Cox Singleton of Amelia; two sons, Christopher and Wilbert Singleton III, both of Amelia; four daughters, LaShornda Hughes of New Orleans, Shemeka Bourgeois, Detria Singleton and Wynette Carter, all of Amelia; two brothers, Joseph Hill and Beverly Singleton, both of Amelia; four sisters, Cora L. Bogen of Morgan City, Patricia Bias, Brenda Henderson and Linda Clark, all of Amelia; and a host of relatives and friends.
