April 22, 1928 — March 11, 2013

Wegie Turner, a native of Haynesville and longtime resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, in Broussard at the age of 84.

Wegie is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Jones; her sons, Michael Turner, James Turner and Craig Turner; one sister, Bea Ledbetter; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Wegie was preceded in death by her husband, James William Turner.

Wegie was an employee of Paul’s Insurance Agency for more than 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bayou Vista. Wegie was a member of the choir, taught Sunday school and training union class.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 14, 2013, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 9 to 11 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Wegie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
