Visitors to the city will now be welcome by signs at Northwest Boulevard and on Main Street near Foster Street, above. An unveiling and ribbon cutting was sponsored Wednesday by the Chamber of Commerce and City of Franklin. Office of Development Director Marla Chirdon said the city’s Main Street board budgeted the project in early January and the funding was approved by the city in January. Artist Jon Eenigenberg designed the logo in-kind and Colleen Aycock contributed to the overall design input and marketing of the project. They were constructed by St. Michael’s Signs in New Iberia. Property owner Gary Blum granted permission for the sign on Main Street, and the state Department of Transportation and Development for the one on Northwest Boulevard.
