Wilfred Gash Sr., 73, a native of Jeanerette and resident of Bakersfield, Calif., died Monday at 5 p.m. at San Joaquin Community Hospital in Bakersfield, Calif.

Survivors include three children, Wilfred Jr., Troy and Vernoria Gash, all of California; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, his twin Willie, Joseph and Earnest Gash, all of Morgan City and Herman Gash of El Paso, Texas; three sisters, Sybil Charles and Margie Gash of Morgan City and Olivia Ledet of Jeanerette; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at Jubilee Nation Ministries in Jeanerette. Burial will be at Aaron Davis Mortuary in Bakersfield, Calif.
