A “FLOWER POT” constructed using recycled materials earned Kai Wininger first place in every level of the National Garden Club Youth Sculpture Contest. Bayou Vista Garden Club was the local contest sponsor. On hand to present her award certificates and gift of appreciation from BVGC were, from left, BVGC member Janice Verret, Wininger and BVGC President Gloria Roy.
She made the entry as a student in Tamatha Bogg’s fifth-grade class at BVES during the spring 2011 session.
Her winning “flower pot” was constructed using recycled materials.
Bayou Vista Garden Club sponsored the contest at the local level. Wininger’s first-place gave her the opportunity to compete on a multitude of levels.
Her project earned first place at all levels — Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Deep South Region, and National Garden Clubs.
BVGC President Gloria Roy and BVGC member Janice Verret presented Wininger with her award certificates and a gift of appreciation from BVGC.
