MARKSVILLE – St. Landry deputies arrested a Cottonport woman who allegedly fled with a teenage theft suspect and shared in the loot after a Plaucheville robbery.

According to Avoyelles Sheriff Doug Anderson, Shanda Darby, 38, and the teenager (gender not revealed) were charged in connection with a break-in in which a large sum of cash and personal documents were stolen.

Anderson said the juveniles, ages 15 and 16, knew their victim and entered the home when no one was there.

Deputies recovered $8,000 taken from the residence.

The two teenagers were also charged with theft of a motor vehicle. A pickup stolen from Plaucheville on June 24 was subsequently found submerged in a canal.
